How Does the Contemporary Service Look? 1. Sing
For the first 20 minutes or so, we’ll sing some simple songs to God, as well as introduce worship based on the theme of the day. Feel free to have a seat anytime. Some people like to stand the entire time. Just be comfortable.
Note: Family Focused Contemporary means that we seek ways to make this service more intergenerational in nature – seeking means to communicate the “Big Idea” or theme of the day with a variety of ages in mind.
2. Welcome
We’ll briefly tell you about a few things happening around here.
3. Experiencing the BIG IDEA (or theme of the day) and the Message.
This may include various forms of communication – perhaps in a drama, a video clip or some kind of hands-on activity. This time will culminate in the message. Our speaker will give a 20 to 25 minute message about applying God’s truths to life’s challenges.
4. Giving
For those who value the mission of this place and are learning to give, this is a time to give back to God a portion of what He’s given to us.
5. Finish and Sending
A short closing prayer and song, and that’s it. Our goal is to send you back home with something that will impact your life that week. If you like, individual prayer is offered at the front of the Activity Center after every Celebration (worship). Feel free to grab a bite to eat in the Gathering room (pizza on Saturdays, donuts on Sundays), or stop by Connections Center if you have any questions.
6. Every first and third Sunday, you are invited to partake of communion, following the instructions printed for you.
